DEA members at Dairygold have won a significant increase to the subsistence allowance. Following intensive negotiations with Dairygold the subsistence allowance rate for eligible staff has been increased from €10.79 to €14.50, together with a commitment to review the rate again in March 2028. This increase took effect from 11 March 2026.

The DEA is continuing to negotiate an increase to mileage rates for Farmer Facing roles.
Outcomes such as the subsistence increase demonstrate the value of members working together through their union.
